Rotary House of Learning
Rotary House of Learning is a resource centre, houses a Library and a Seminar hall. Hundreds of school children utilize the library every day. RCBC and other organisations to conduct seminars, training programmes and business meetings use the seminar hall.

Government Primary School at Lingarajapuram
Over 550 students are provided wholesome mid- day meals every day. Outstanding students of this school are given incentives in the form of scholarships. School furniture and books for the library have been donated by RCBC. Construction of additional classrooms and laboratory facility on the first floor of the existing school building has been completed. All these have been possible through donations received from RCBC members and other individuals including people from abroad. $ 50 can sustain one child for his mid day meal for one academic year. Navajeevan Nilaya
Navajeevannilaya, situated at Airport- Whitefield Road, Bangalore-37, is a rehabilitation home for the leprosy cured. As part of the process of rehabilitating the inmates, RCBC has set up a carpentry workshop, a piggery and a cloth weaving section to train them in different vocations. Doctors appointed by RCBC visit the Nilaya regularly to monitor the health of the inmates at a cost of Rs. 36,000 per annum. At least one regular meeting of RCBC is held at the Navajeevannilaya,  to coincide with   the Republic Day every year.

Rural Development
RCBC along with an NGO, ‘MYRADA’ has adopted a village near Bidadi, off Mysore road, which is called Nelliguda and have accomplished the following projects:
(a) Construction of low cost shelter and Community Hall
(b) Starting of a co-operative self financing scheme for the rural poor.
(c) Fishery and poultry
(d) Day care Centre for children of working women.
(e) Several number of RVCs

Health Care
For the under privileged the RCBC has done yeoman services such as:
(a) Immunisation of Children under Pulse Polio programme covering approximately 32,000 children.
(b) Eye camps at villages
(c) Blood donation camps.
(d) Public awareness campaigns are being conducted regularly against drug abuse and spread of AIDS.
(e) Hepatitis-B vaccines are administered regularly on concessional rates.

Traffic Safety Awareness
RCBC is working closely with the Traffic Police of Bangalore. Traffic signposts are being given regularly to the traffic police to be used in suitable locations. A booklet on ‘Safe Driving ‘ is being issued free to prospective riders through various two wheeler outlets. RCBC also conducts training programs to train instructors for training the drivers.

Financing the poor
A unique project of financing the extremely poor section of our society to start small enterprises has been a very successful venture of RCBC. From a corpus fund established by RCBC, small loans have been channelised to the needy through an organisation called Bridge Foundation.

Vocational Excellence Awards
RCBC identifies out standing people in various vocations like education, nursing, police, fire fighting or community service to tribal areas etc. and awards are presented to them in recognition of their contributions to their vocations or service.

Rotary Youth Leadership Award ( RYLA )
Every year RCBC have been conducting residential camps for Boys and Girls in the age group of 18-20 years studying in II PUC/ Std 12/ 1st year degree/ 2nd year degree or equivalent in any discipline for about 4 days. The training schedule includes communication, Creativity, Effective Public Speaking, Interpersonal Skills, Time Management, Positive Health etc. It also conducts theatre workshops.

Rotaract Club and Interact Club
RCBC has two each of Rotaract and Interact  clubs encompassing  the student community of college and School going age. In association with Promise Foundation, RCBC has conducted numerous career counselling sessions for students in schools around RHL.

Senior Citizens Club
There is a Senior Citizens Club under RCBC, which is organised for the well-being of the elderly population. This Club meets at the RHL regularly, conducts cultural and educational programmes. RCBC also assists other Senior Citizens Clubs and also helps some of their activities like sponsoring the World Elders Day programmes.

Vocational Training for School Dropouts
Training is imparted to boys in this category for 3 months in the trades of Fitters and Turners. Girls are trained in Cutting and Tailoring for a period of 6 months. We also assist them in placement after training.

Inter Collegiate Elocution Competition
RCBC provides a forum for Public Speaking to the college going youth through this project. The talented are picked up and awarded Certificates and other incentives through regular competitions which has now become an annual feature. This project is now named after one of our illustrious Rotarians, Bicajee D. Motiwala who passed away recently.

Funds & Fund Raising
Funds are needed to implement the various projects and programmes of the club. These funds are generated by various means; some of them being: -

(a) Contributions by the members.
(a) Contributions by philanthropic individuals and organisations.
(b) Corporate Bodies.
(c) Through  Consumer  Exhibitions and Sales
(d) Through Seminars, Workshops etc.
(e) Contributions brought in by members from Friends and well wishers  abroad
(f) Matching contributions from Rotary Clubs abroad
(g) Funds raised by Rotary Anns ( Spouses ) through Jumble sales, Cooking classes etc.

Rotary Community Corps of Aravinda Nagar

Having been sponsored by Rotary Club of Bangalore Cantonment.RCC Aravinda Nagar was inaugurated on 7th October 2001. The Goals of RCC are:-

  • To encourage individuals to take responsibility for the improvement of their village, neighbourhood or community.

  • To recognize the dignity and value of all useful occupations.

  • To mobilize self help activities and collective work to improve the quality of life;

  • To encourage the development of human potential to it's fullest, with in the context of the local culture and community.
